Since starting school at Georgia Southern in the fall of 1991, I have missed exactly three home playoff games, all of them in 1998 when I was living in Reno (and in the process of moving back to Georgia after my fiasco of a stay there). Today, I will be sitting at home and listening to the game on the radio while the Eagles are playing just a few miles from my house. The costs and complications of having a child make it necessary to stay home and hope the Eagles win so I might catch the home team in the next round of the playoffs.
So instead of watching the game in person or on ESPN3’s internet broadcast (my small, rural internet provider doesn’t support ESPN3), I will be live blogging today’s game—that is, I’ll listen to the game on the radio, write down my thoughts as the game unfolds and post the results here shortly after the game wraps up.
Whether you like Georgia Southern football or not, I hope to have something to entertain everyone. See you after the game.
